HDMI Receiver - Clearer and Crisper

Setting up an HDMI receiver can seem a bit overwhelming, but it is actually very simple and can lead to many entertaining days and nights with a home theater. It has become more and easier as the years go on to connect components together. We are here to help you with your adventure into the unknown.

What is HDMI?

HDMI is an all in one digital cable. It carries both audio and video signals. You can set up pretty much any home theater equipment. You can even hook up your laptop or desktop to your high definition television.

Installing an HDMI Receiver

First you need to select your cables. You are going to need to know how long the cables will need to be. These are sold in three main lengths: three feet, six feet, and ten feet. There are other lengths, but these are the most common. You want to allow for some slack when putting this together and connecting it, so please measure it properly and get the next size up. It is also important that you get a high quality HDMI receiver and cords. For example, getting a speed verified HDMI cable will be able to handle Blu-ray disc player features. This allows for the absolute best picture giving you a quality viewing. There are usually HDMI connections on whatever components you have. There will be an output on the component and an input on the HDMI receiver. Simply connect one end to the output and the other end to the AV receiver. There are usually labels of what kind of input. Please keep note of that.

Additional Tips

When it comes to having a lot of components, it is important that you use a surge protector. Blackouts can do serious damage to electronics just by a power surge. This will also prevent much interference. It will result in higher quality in both picture and sound. If you have a DVD player, which I am sure you do, you must connect separate cables to help carry the video signal to the television display. Or you can connect it to your AV/HDMI receiver display and then connect it to your television display. If you are connecting a stereo system with surround speakers, please be careful. If you turn the levels up too high because you think you can't hear from them, you will ruin them. At the proper levels, you should not be able to differentiate the surround speakers.
